This walk takes you by a not over-strenuous climb to the top of a small peak on the very edge of the Forest of Bowland. If you pick your day, you will be rewarded with views over the Ribble Valley to Pendle and north to the peaks of the Yorkshire Dales. The walk ends with a quiet riverside stroll.

30/11/2008 my wife's comment about this walk was "Mainly bog interrupted by tarmac."

9/18/2005 - Ian Fairnie

17/09/05 - Ian Fairnie. All directions accurate and all signs in place. The walk is very 'open' with most of the first half on exposed 'upland'. Do this on a clear day as the views are lovely. The gate at waypoint 17 is wooden. I nearly made the mistake of not doing the detour to the summit of Mellor Knoll between waypoints 9 & 10. The 360 degree panorama is brilliant and definitely the highpoint (literally) of the walk.
