This short family walk passes through a couple of picturesque villages in the flat farming area on the western fringes of Hartlepool.
The walk starts from the charming village of Elwick and heads east through fields to reveal panoramic views of the coast from Hartlepool to Saltburn. The route then briefly passes through West Park, a leafy suburb on the outskirts of Hartlepool, before entering the interesting Summerhill Country Park complete with Visitor Centre. The walk then turns east with a little road-walking followed by field-paths to intersect and pass through the lovely old village of Dalton Piercy. The final short lap passes through more fields to return to Elwick.
