Walk along the River Wye and see plenty of wildlife, on the river and the bank. Climb up to the plateau, with lovely views up and down the Wye Valley and explore the many rocky outcrops. As you drop down towards Aberedw, Llewellyn's Cave is in the rocks to your left. After climbing back up to the plateau, the views open up to Hay-on-Wye and the Black Mountains. Visit the church of St Deilo on the return route.

Signs to the cave are now very well marked until the actual final field - just keep going whilst looking left.

Attempted this walk three days ago, but only got part way round. Complete lack of signage - no footpath signs. This becomes quite critical when on the plateau level. Do not attempt without a compass and in bad visibility. Instructions are lacking adequate detail in parts.

Thoroughly recommend this walk, we did it on a very cold but bright day yesterday and the views were fantastic. The only issue we had was with the derelict farm house and Llewellyn's cave. It didn't feel comfortable going through the gate with the farmhouse on your left and Llewellyn's cave is not obvious so we missed it! The lady back at the craft centre told us to count 100 steps from the first flat field and the cave is on your left, apparently someone has now put a shield up on the rocks. We live locally so will definitely be trying again!
