From Facheca we begin along old tracks that take us through the timeless orchards of olive and almond trees. Soon we descend very steeply into the deep valley of the Rio Seta and notice how unstable the steep sides of the valley are in places. With care we find our way down to the riverbed (just a trickle when we were there in March 2012) and step across to climb up to the old mill, now in a sad state of dereliction. From here we have a straightforward ramble along tracks through olive and almond groves to reach the CV720 road, which we follow very briefly to reach the charming village of Benimassot. We can obtain some refreshment at the Bar Municipal that we pass (closed Mondays). Afterwards we leave the village along the same road for a few metres before turning off to head back down into the Seta Valley. At the bottom we have a tricky crossing before beginning our ascent to reach a lane that brings us to the historic Corral de la Salema. Soon we divert onto a footpath that will bring us to an old lime oven and from here it is but a short road-walk back to Facheca.

Nice walk across the valley and return. Ascending out of the river bed was very difficult and not for the faint hearted but the walk was well worth it with great views. Nice cafe in Benimassot half way around and lunch in the cafe at the swimming pool in Beniarda at the end with the tapas highly recommended.
