Catch the train at Barmouth to go to Fairbourne Station. At Fairbourne there are gift shops to browse and the Rowen Nature Centre to visit. The alternative way to get to Fairbourne could be to catch the small ferry from Barmouth Harbour to Penrhyn Point and then take the miniature railway to Fairbourne (depending on availability). The walk starts at Fairbourne Station and takes the sea road down to the seafront. Stroll along the seafront, taking in the lovely views of Cardigan Bay and then take a footpath that follows the tidal estuary back to Morfa Mawddach Station. Here the path crosses the railway line and then follows the line across the Barmouth Bridge. There is a toll for pedestrians crossing the bridge. The walk back into Barmouth can be via the picturesque harbour before arriving back at the car park.

Nice easy walk with good views of Barmouth Bay. We walked both ways, rather than catching the train.

This walk is not in Neath Port Talbot, probably more like ceredigion.
