Filby is a stunning village and won the Britain in Bloom back in 2002. It strives to maintain this image. This shortish walk from Filby Broad follows the A1064 to begin with, before branching off to follow quiet country lanes around to Mautby Lane. The return journey follows public footpaths through open fields with fantastic views to the parish church in Filby. From there the route follows the A1064 back to the broads. As the walk isn't very long, it would definitely be worth walking along the boardwalk on both sides of the road at the start of the walk. The one overlooking Filby Broad is only very short, starts the other side of the bridge and is more like a jetty, with grand views over the lake. The one next to the car park follows a direct route to a bird hide, again with grand views over the lake and plenty of wildlife around. Allow around 45 minutes to walk down the boardwalks as an extra.

We did enjoy this walk. The only off putting thing was walk from carpark into village to Pound Lane is on a busy road. You could cut some of this out by parking nearer to Pound Lane. Aside from that was very enjoyable and got some good pictures. Thanks
