An undemanding walk through glorious countryside which takes in the three picturesque Chiltern villages of Fingest, Frieth and Skirmett. A rich variety of landscape from wooded hillsides to delightful meadows makes for a wonderful walk at any time of the year.

23/08/2020 Ken Howard At waymark 5, the path beside Nineacre bungalow is now re-opened and well-surfaced. At waymark 10, about 100 yards after the Prince Albert pub, the two road signs have gone, but look for footpath sign on left. A lovely walk, but I would question the 'undemanding' and 'easy' category since there are several quite steep hill climbs.

The footpath at WM5 (Fingest Lane) is closed as of July ‘20 for reasons unknown. This necessitates continuing to the junction, turning left along a single-track road and staying on it for about 10 minutes until a footpath on the left allows you to walk up the field to a T-junction, turning right to reacquire the route at WM8. As ever in these situations, the map & GPS locator in the Walkingworld App is your friend!

This was a fantastic walk with plenty of woodland, open fields and very few ascents. Mainly dog friendly except for one stile nearing the end of the walk (just before the racetrack) where, unless you are lucky enough to have a dog that will climb stiles, you will have to lift your dog over! (Ours weighs 30kgs!! Lol). Dogs have to be on leads going over the race track but there are plenty of other places on the walk to let dogs roam free. An absolutely lovely walk!
