A pleasant walk with some lovely views across the River Colne as you follow quiet country lanes, pass through fields and a lengthy stretch through woodland.

A couple of the paths near the river can get quite muddy in the winter months, so walking boots would be a good option. They were fine when this walk was compiled in May. All the lanes were fairly quiet so makes a good walk for the kids to enjoy and to be safe too.

At a couple of points along the route you pass beside a M.O.D firing range, so please adhere to the signs instructing you not to enter if the red flags are flying.

There two pubs to visit along the way, The Whalebone right at the start/finish and Ye Olde Albion at waymark 8 in Rowhedge.
