This walk was originally contributed by Anne and Brian Sandland. Walkingworld is very grateful for Sid Marks to be taking over this route, January 2021.

Starting from the edge of Fordham Heath, use a short section of quiet country lane then field- paths south of the River Colne, eventually to reach the pleasant little village of Ford Street. Walk through the village, crossing the Colne in the process and reach a point where you can again use field paths and a section of the Essex Way to walk east (now on the north side of the river). When you reach Cook's Mill (now a private home), walk through its grounds and again cross the Colne. A final section of country lane and then a short walk through woodland brings you back to your start point.
