The walk follows the Great Stour River westwards out of Canterbury before heading north past the ancient earthwork of Bigbury Fort into Blean Woods. At the end of the waymarked route you can choose to continue along the clearly marked Crab and Winkle Way to either Whitstable or Canterbury, or there are buses from the village of Blean just behind you.
