The route passes Balcarnie Farm and climbs towards Barony Hill. The walk continues through Falfarrocher Glen, following the burn downstream through marvellous woodland. Walking the banks of the Water of Girvan, the route passes Dalquharran Mansion. The route now meanders through a riverside wood before crossing the bridge back into Dailly.

A lovely and varied walk, especially in the late Autumn when the trees in the wood are at their colourful best. I would describe it as hard, rather than strenuous and it can be very wet in places; but well worth the effort. Some very dog unfriendly stiles (about 4 where I had to lift my (very muddy)dog over) and there were some sheep and cattle present in the first section. Also a few of the directions could have been expanded upon to make it slightly easier to find the route but nothing that a bit of careful map reading can't resolve. Tony Greig 08/11/10
