Starting in the village square at Fuente Camacho, with the Sierra Gibalto in full view behind the village, this is a linear walk, descending fifty metres in total, through olive groves and open farmland down to Fuente del Conde. Although mainly on tracks, the route passes through trackless olive groves, along some minor roads and along an old rail track, now a bridleway.

From Fuente Camacho you pass the actual fuente (spring), going out into rural Andalusia, passing an old cortijo into olive groves and out into Cuesta de la Palma, along through further olive groves and onto the bridleway through the grounds of the hotel. The walk then slightly rises to an ancient Mediterranean oakwood to explore inside an old cortijo, rising to the top of Fuente del Conde.

Here, from the hermitage, are magnificent views across to the Sierras Subbéticas and Lake Iznájar. You descend to a welcoming village bar, passing the village church, for a selection of cold beers and free tapas.
