The walk starts from the picturesque village of Gaucín, climbing over the north-west slopes of the Sierra del Hacho, descending into the hidden Rio Guadiaro Valley with wonderful views over to Cortez de la Frontera and the Sierra de Líbar. After an easy stretch following a wide forest track you return through the cork oaks to Gaucín.

To follow up on the previous comment ... yes, 5+ years on from the original description, much of the ambiguity about which paths to take in the early section of this walk seem to have been addressed. There is a considerable amount of fencing along the first part of this walk now, with non-rights of way fenced off and way-markings along the correct route. Much simpler ! See ViewRanger walk reference sgpa0003 for a Feb 2015 description. Many thanks to Lyndon and Jennifer for the original !

Delightful walk but two alterations to instructions. Step 1 - petrol station now Repsol and garage doors painted blue. Step 3 - Higher path blocked off as private property. Lower path can be followed and is the better path described in step 4.
