A pleasant circular ramble beside the Dee estuary, returning along quiet tracks past the Golf Club with magnificent views over the Dee estuary to the distant North Wales coast. Reaching Gayton and the end of the coastal section of the route, you then go up a road to Heswall Golf Club. The road then soon ends as a track takes you through a sensational tunnel of trees and along the hilltop footpath with magnificent views of the Dee estuary; (photo on the right). Dropping down into Parkgate, you pass an old pub just before you reach your car park. There are four alternative walks in this locality of differing routes and lengths, 7525, 7522, 7524 & 7563.

A very popular circular walk suitable for everyone surefooted and wearing stout trainers, however one of the upper sections may get muddy if it's very wet in which case boots will be the best footwear. The walk is dog friendly but difficult for buggies and not suitable for wheelchairs. There are no picnic tables or bench seats on this route, but there are toilets at the pub near your car park which also has good drinks and good food, but you should book in advance if you wish to eat.
