This splendid station to station walk in the London Borough of Havering has so much variety along the route. You pass through two golf courses, two country parks and beautiful rolling countryside and a long stretch beside a brook through a residential area.

Bedfords Park in Havering-atte-Bower is an enormous country park with a visitor centre, a deer-park, a walled garden including a tea room and excellent views across to London. While here you have the choice of exploring the whole park but you must return to the visitor centre to resume this walk.

Havering Country Park is mainly through woodland and is very enjoyable. Even when walking on the field-paths the views are amazing, passing many paddocks with horses grazing within.

Near the end when walking through the residential area of Harold Hill, there is a section of grassland where deer accumulate often being fed by the residents nearby.

You do have to cross the busy A12 twice, but there is a gap in the central reservation allowing you to cross safely. There are a couple of pubs along the route and one at the end, so plenty of refreshments available throughout this family walk.
