This is a short return hill walk up to a popular viewpoint in the coastal hills above Girven. Soon after the start is a stroll along the beach; then a short pavement bash; followed by a long track leading up to the hills. Walking along the track up the hill is the main part of the route. There are field gates and stiles to negotiate which are not dog friendly. The final climb to the viewpoint involves the use of rough footpaths up quite steep sections of hillside, so you will need to be reasonably fit and agile to complete the walk. The return route is the reverse of the outward route.

This walk is probably best suited for teenagers, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Unfortunately it's hopeless for dogs, wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be boots but anything flat soled and stout should be fine, and there should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. At the start and beginning of the route there are refreshments and picnic tables at David's Snack Bar alongside the car park (photo on the right). You will be able to find bench seats, shops, toilets, pubs and other refreshments close by in Girven town.
