This is a longish, varied walk. A thing to note is that it involves fording the River Nethy at one point; so if you find at Waymark 5 (Bynack Bothy) that the river is high, it would be as well to turn back and do another of the many nearby walks listed in the Walkingworld database. Boots are essential and in wet weather, waterproof trousers (in one section there is no path and the heather reaches above the knees...) In season look out for chanterelles near Waymark 10.

I understand that Lochan Uaine is green because that's where the fairy folk wash their clothes. The path from waymark 6 does come and go a bit - but the going is fine. I drifted away from the river and from higher ground could clearly see the ruined sheiling in the distance - as shown in the photo! Instead of going down to the ford at waymark 12 I extended the walk by about 3.5 k to cross at the bridge near forest lodge.

I walked part of this route on 3rd May on the way up Bynack More and the bothy at Bynack Stables, shown in the photograph of Waymark 5, is no longer there, just a large area of grass. The bothy must have been missing for some time. Regards, Mike.
