An easy circular walk close to Chester with the footpath sections along good and well used paths. No outstanding views, but enjoyable rural countryside all the way. The walk is suitable for all year round use, but is best in spring, summer and early autumn when there are leaves on the trees and more flowers are out. The paths can be muddy in places in winter after heavy rain, especially the long enclosed path on the return part of the route. There are a wide variety of bridges, stiles and gates - all in good condition, but beware of slippery moss on wooden stiles when they are wet. There were no animals in fields the paths crossed over, and the steepest short slopes were along the lane. All of the brooks are very full in winter and half way along the lane you cross over a very attractive one, (photo on the right). This is a longer version of walk 8474 and some of the paths are different.

This walk is suitable for children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Excellent for dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled, but boots will be best, especially after recent heavy rain when the paths could be muddy with numerous puddles; but there should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts in summer. On your route there are no refreshments, picnic tables, bench seats and few other facilities. Toilets and refreshments should be available in the pub close to the walk start and finish. In fact, if you book in advance, you should be able to get a good meal with a drink; an excellent finish to a good walk; details are below.
