This walk starts in the centre of Greenmount near a local medical centre. The first section follows part of the Kirklees Trail before passing some bodies of water to reach the edge of a residential area. It follows a path through some woodland (not shown on the path) to reach the far edge of the residential area before passing through a second section of woodland to reach the Kirklees Trail. The trail is crossed and a short section along a residential street leads to a footpath which is followed to reach a road.

After crossing the road the route continues along some more footpaths to reach another road. There is then a section up two roads to reach a number of footpaths across fields and along two more roads to reach the highest point of the walk.

The final section crosses a stream at the bottom of a valley before a short section along rural roads followed to reach a golf course. After walking through the golf course the final section is through a small residential area to reach the start point.
