At Grindleford Station just at the start of the walk is the original station building, worth a visit as there are some old pictures and of course a cup of tea. Walk via Padley Chapel to the boundary of the Longshaw Estate, turning right along the wall to the old incline. After a steep ascent the ruins of the old winding house are reached. Follow the path left and after a bit of climbing it will take you up to the road onto the moors and Carl Wark; more information at www.highpeak.co.uk.

Climb Higger Tor and then go onto Stanage Edge, magnificent views all around. Leave Stanage Edge via the Buck Stone, more information on www.peakscan.freeuk.com/routes_stoops_peak_district

Back in arable farming country again, follow the paths, lane and track into Bamford, pub and shops, finally walking over the fields back to the station.
