Hampton Loade – Dudmaston - Comer Wood and Quatt

This Severn Valley walk starts at the National Trust car park at the picturesque riverside village of Hampton Loade. The pedestrian river ferry is also there. A lot of this walk is on The Dudmaston Estate, so we see Dudmaston Hall from a distance as we pass its lakes and woodlands.

It is a gentle walk with no steep hills to climb, a few stiles, one that's awkward, plus a couple of road crossings where great care needs to be taken.

(Note from Walkingworld: much of this walk is through lovely woodland. We recommend a compass be taken as sometimes paths through woods can be tricky to find and follow).

Nice varied walk with fields, woods and water, perfect for a sunny Good Friday morning. If you don't like styles most of the ones mentioned have now been replaced with gates.

There is a fence to scale at SO 75474 86867, between WP30 and WP31. It's not difficult to get over. I scaled it just before crossing over the stream then continuing up the left side of a field to WP31. Roger

Nice steady walk for New Years day after the night before. Plenty of variety and some lovely scenery, binoculars recommended if you like twitching as we do. Great walk will do again. (Note from Chris, Admin - thanks for corrections, sorted now.)
