After leaving The Boar's Head take a road-walk out of the village before entering field-paths up past splendid Mount Pleasant and another short road-walk up past Black Hill Farm. Then turn towards the River Avon via Daisy Hill Farm, returning to Hampton Lucy along the escarpment above the Avon.

Well what an annoying walk this turned out to be. The very beginning of the walk has no footpath sign so you just need to keep to edge of field. Cows in one of the fields were very threatening and then towards end of walk between 9 and 10 (the Shakespeare way) the footpath is completely overgrown and impassable meaning we ended up on a bridleway with no clear exit.

Enjoyable, if unremarkable, walk through Warwickshire countryside which we did on a dry if overcast day in early October. Some lovely views along the way and not too taxing. The walk along the Avon Way yeilds only occasional glimpses of the river through the trees. A couple of navigation points; The styles at point 2; off the road and then between fields are quite overgrown and not easy to spot. At point 7 the cut though the copse is so overgrown it's impassible. Instead, follow the road with the copse on your left, you can rejoin the walk at point 8

On the map, way point 5 is not Black Hill Farm, but the right hand turn at the start of Clump Hill, directly to the east.
