Harlech is known for its castle and the views across to the sea. On this walk we ignore the castle and instead take to the hills behind Harlech. The stiles are the original stone step-stiles over the beautiful walls. They are not all easy but are unusual. There are spectacular views over to North Wales and along the Llyn Peninsula and good views of the castle from a different perspective.

A glorious walk in sunshine, with far-reaching views across the estuary to Snowdonia, and out to sea. We got lost between points 4 and 5 because the instructions said "go through a gap in the wall" and there were lots of walls, all with gaps! We presumed that it was straight ahead, but we still couldn't find the marker post "just beyond the corner". However, we were able to make our way out to the road and pick up the walk again just after point 6. Otherwise straightforward route-finding. Lots of sheep with lambs in neighbouring fields so any dog would have to be kept under close control.
