This walk is on open farmland and 'green lanes' with a little road walking on quiet lanes. Most stiles are stone step-through or wooden/ stone step-overs; none are really too narrow or high for most walkers. Two areas give good panoramic views, particularly Sheen Hill and the area close to The Olde Butchers Arms at Reaps Moor, though good views can be had from many areas along the route. Most of the paths are well-marked and are easy to find, with some on the return to Hartington needing access through tied-up gateways (remember to close them again!)
The Olde Butchers Arms is currently Closed. Not sure yet if this is permanent or for long overdue refurbishment.
