At the south end of the Myall Lakes National Park lies the small town of Hawks Nest. From the beach car park this walk takes you first along the white sand ocean beach, where we were lucky enough to see dolphins swimming about 15 feet offshore, to the wooded promontory that is Yacaaba Head, the walk then climbs up through the trees to reach the summit with great views over the beaches and southwards down the coast. Descending from the summit the walk takes you along the inner estuary beach and then back across the dunes to the car. A short but sometimes steep walk surrounded by the sea, sand and wildlife
