Leaving the pretty village of Hellidon along the main street, this walk immediately enters very rural countryside, following tracks and bridleways, footpaths and byways. There is plenty to entertain the eye in this wonderful, naturally beautiful area, where streams and brooks seem to zigzag their course in whichever direction you take and where medieval fishponds are a feature. The Old Coach House in Lower Catesby is directly opposite the grand Catesby House, where once the coaches were driven along an archway of trees.

We did this walk in the evening and it was a very pleasant and quiet walk, we only saw one other person. There are some lovely views, we also spotted a pair of hares and an owl. Some points to note, the walk obviously isn't very well trodden so there are no clear paths but the instructions are easy to follow, most of the stiles were quite brambly and over grown. Also at way point 6, there is no sign ! The farmer is obviously anti walkers, apparently he 'forgot' to put the sign back up when he replaced the gate. So when you have walked some distance and there is a metal gate on the right you need to turn there. The farmer has also inconsiderately rigged up his electric wired fence to the gate that walkers have to go through. We unclipped the battery and then went through. See what I mean about anti-walkers ! Apart from that, this is a lovely countryside walk off the beaten track.
