Beginning from the Hermitage, which now finds itself in the middle of a large roundabout, we head off westward, passing through a very prosperous residential zone. Soon we turn north and head through open and wooded country until we cross the little local single-track railway. After a short climb through olive groves we can enjoy a ramble though timeless countryside, enjoying the wonderful panoramas around us. More climbing brings us high above Muro d'Alcoy, from where we can clearly see our start point and the Hermitage. Soon we have to take a footpath that twists and turns its way downwards and brings us back to the railway line. We have only to retrace our outward steps to the start.
