The route links the two villages of Honley and Brockholes in West Yorkshire, going via fields and woodland, on good footpaths and quiet lanes. Leaving Honley, passing under the railway, through a quiet housing area and quickly into woodland and across Ludhill Dyke to more woodland. Then up to the hamlet of Hall Ing, with typical stone-built houses and along a lane through the hamlet, descending through Cliff Top Farm to reach and cross the rail line to Brockholes Village.
