This is an ideal walk for those who prefer to use public transport to help preserve the landscape they are walking in. Although graded 'hill scramble', it is a boderline 'moderate' route and presents no real difficulties. Use the Hope Valley Railway between Sheffield and Manchester to get to Hope Station. From Hope it is a relatively gentle climb via Hope Cross and Crookstone Out Moor to reach the edge of the eastern arm of the Kinder Plateau. Keeping to the southern edge of the plateau, the walk is an easy to follow route via Ringing Roger and Hartshorn, round the top of Grinsbrook Clough to reach the summit of Grindslow Knoll, then a descent to the village of Edale with its welcoming pubs and facilities, before reaching Edale Station for the journey home.

Excellent walk, could easily be candidate for best in area, would rather have taken path at get-out 3 on reflection as path down at end quite bad. You all should do this walk, info from author faultless.

Did this walk in reverse in June 2006. All open. If you're doing this walk backwards, the only thing to watch is leaving kinder plateau at waymark 14. It's a great walk!
