Horning – Butcher's Common – Threehammer Common - Horning

This walk starts in a lay-by alongside the A1062 on the western edge of Horning, near the telephone box. The route follows a track opposite that heads through some beautiful woodlands and fields and after 3km, arrives at Butcher's Common. The path to Butcher's Common offers some stunning scenery towards the west over the gentle rolling hills to Hoveton Hall.

Butcher's Common and Threehammer Common are small hamlets that come under the parish of Neatishead. There are some pretty cottages and a small church along the route back towards Horning. One of the quiet country lanes back to Horning passes RAF Neatishead. There are a couple of amazing sights when looking at the small MoD base, the main one being the size of the radar station on the north-west corner. The route back to the start passes Bewilderwood, an adventure park aimed at young children.
