Our hike begins in the peaceful hamlet of Huelga Utrera beneath a massive walnut tree and we will follow the course
of the Rio Segura some distance above its cascading waters.

We pass through woods and beneath massive cliffs, mostly climbing steadily. Later we reach more open landscape with fruit trees that tell the story of how life used to be in this region. Our way ends at the massive Cueva del Agua. After exploration we return along the same route, diverting briefly to visit the cascade at Charco del Humo before resuming our return along our outward route, enjoying the different perspective and the easier hiking.

We were delighted to walk this one again after 14 years in Feb 2023.The walk has been updated and a new map provided. This a fascinating little hike particularly in Spring and Autumn.
