Hunter's Inn - Old Coaching Road - Woody Bay - South West Coast Path - Hunter's Inn

This walk will take you along a section of the South West Coast Path that is often considered to be one of the most scenic sections of its whole 613 miles. It starts by following the old coaching road, giving easy walking and amazing views. On reaching the aptly-named Woody Bay, clothed mainly in sessile oak, one returns via the lower coast path, locally known as the 'goat path', being narrow and closer to the sea and cliffs. One passes one of the highest waterfalls along this section of the coast, overlooks a rock arch and generally experiences some wonderful coastal scenery.

Did this walk a couple of weeks ago whilst on a short break to Somerset. Slightly hazy day but absolutely stunning views. See the Exmoor Coast gallery on www.mikeskidmorephotography.co.uk for some of the views. -- A must do if you are in the area!

This is one of the most spectacular walks I've done so far. I've just come back from a week of walking in Exmoor for the first time and delighted in the rich contrasts this area offers. This is a truly stunning walk that gives you all the dramatic scenery you could desire - plus a waterfall! It will stay in my memory for a very long time. Thankyou.
