Starting in the centre of Huntly, this walks leads to Huntly Castle (Historic Scotland) along an avenue of lime trees. It then passes through a picnic area, past a dry cross-country ski centre and follows a riverside walk out into the countryside, before returning to the town centre by a circular route.

This is a delightful riverside walk. Since this walk was first published, some flood alleviation works have taken place and these are now complete.

Lots of reconstruction work going on along various parts of the River Deveron. Had to make a slight detour between Markers 5 & 6 - very muddy in places. Couldn't find the lop-sided bridge described at Marker 7, think it may have been washed away at some point. Heading towards Marker 8 path closed off had to retraced our steps back to the bridge over the A96, where we climbed steps and rejoined the walk at Marker 9. We will return and try and do the walk next time we are in the area.
