This circular walk on the moor takes you past many of the areas of interest and also gets away from the normal tourist routes as you climb up to Whetstone Gate and along to the trig point, the highest point on the moor at 402 metres above sea level. Although most of the walk is on good tracks or paths, there are some areas which need care with navigation, some boggy areas that have to be negotiated and in places, indistinct paths. This walk also incorporates parts of Walks 1019 and 1020.

At step 10, the wooden stiles referred to, have seemingly been replaced by metal gates. The left turn onto a small path is just a few yards short of the second gate.
