Our route gives us a brief glimpse of what the Breamish Valley has to offer. It takes us through woodland to the tourist information centre and the village church, then across meadows to Ingram Mill along the banks of the River Breamish, though no mill stands here anymore. Skirting around the bracken-covered hillside, we walk back over fields to cross the river via ford or footbridge. From here we walk back up the valley road alongside the river to return to our start point. All the way the views are ever-changing, from rugged moorland, to cultivated terraces on hillsides, to old meadowland. Dramatic lighting and seasonal changes make this walk different every time.
