This beautiful station to station walk starting in Ipswich to Manningtree, Essex, is mainly through Suffolk, with just a short section at the end through Essex.
You will follow a couple of stretches beside the water including the River Orwell, Alton Water, River Stour and a long stretch beside Seafield Bay. The field-paths and bridleways have amazing views and there are plenty of places along the route for refreshments, including Suffolk Food Hall and at least three pubs.
When the walk is finished you get a chance to visit Manningtree Town with its pubs and shops; and once back at Ipswich, the town and the marina are well worth a visit. Even though this is a fairly long walk, Tattingstone Village is about halfway where you will find The White Horse pub for a well-earned rest stop.
