From Slaidburn there is a a gentle walk along the Hodder to Newton and the Parkers Arms. Rising ground then leads over sheep pastures and gently down to the River Dunsop and Dunsop Bridge, declared by the Ordnance Survey to be the nearest village to the geographical centre of the British Isles.
