Starting at the pretty coastal village of Elie, this walk takes you down the grand driveway to Elie House and along past Kilconquhar Loch. Admire the old jetty and move on through the old estate to the lodge gatehouse. A short road section takes you down to a wonderful woodland trail, and you will soon emerge at the Cockillmill Burn where you can see the sand Martins on the sandy bank. You will soon merge with the Fife coastal path, a short section through the caravan park then up onto the cliffs at Shell bay - as you walk along you will pass the remains of WW2 gun emplacements. The path is now very steep as it winds it's way down to the beach, as you walk up to the main street you can turn right and walk along the beach to Elie.

We did this walk last Sunday and it is a lovely varied mix of landscapes. But no way is it 222m height gain - our Garmin made it more like 50m!
