The walk starts near Southgates Roundabout and quickly gains the bank of the Great Ouse. This is followed right through to Wiggenhall St Germans, where there is a pub, The Crown and Anchor and then through the village on a quiet lane to join the River Nar. The Nar Valley Way takes us back to the starting point.

The riverbanks are well-maintained by the Environment Agency, so the going is good in all weathers.
