The walk has a good mixture of flat, ascents and descents, well-spread throughout the walk over very good terrain and with plenty of points to rest and points of interest, plus good toilet facilities and somewhere for refreshments.

Paragliding is often carried out from the Ridgeway. You can visit the famous on-shore 'nodding donkey' oil-extraction site, so there is plenty to do to make this a good full day's walk if you wish.

Coastal path reopened April 2014.
