Twice over the Blythe

This easy to follow, reasonably flat walk starts and ends at a free car park just off the Grand Union Canal North East of Knowle.

The walk takes us along well worn paths through Warwickshire farmland and countryside towards Barston where the local livestock appears to be Alpacas!

The next section of the walk is along a short stretch of the Blythe, where we found plenty of logs to sit on for a cup of tea and to watch the birds around the river - we have on one occasion seen a really large Heron here.

After the river there is a small section of lane walking before back onto some very nice meadow and farmland.

The final section takes us through a private estate (mine's the second on the right), back over the Blythe, passing Henwood Hall Farm before returning via a nice stretch of the Grand Union Canal.

We've seen plenty of wildlife around this area including Buzzards, foxes, Herons, the usual rabbits and a Kingfisher as well as the usual hedgerow birds.

There are around 10 stiles on the walk - most would allow smaller/medium sized dogs to gets through, however 2 have mesh across them meaning dogs would need lifting over.

A good walk for kids - but note - no toilets or refreshments (unless you detour- see additional notes).

You may want to extend the walk by joining it to walk 4545.
