This is a 4½-hour walk mostly downhill and takes in beautiful flowers and plants, deep ravines with their planted terraces and the most breathtaking and dramatic views of the north-east coast. The first hamlet you arrive in is Chinamada, where the people live mainly in caves and which up to recently could only be accessed on foot. There is now a tarmac road and an excellent restaurant. From this hamlet you walk down the rocky path beside the Tomadero Ravine, walk round El Roque de los Dos Hermanos (Two-Brothers Rock) before dropping down to the village of Punta de Hidalgo on the north coast, crossing the mouth of the El Rio Ravine. If you have the energy, do look round before catching your bus back.
