No great scenic views on this circular walk; its main attraction being is its quietness, perhaps because many of the paths are not marked as public footpaths on the maps. However, for most of the route it follows good wooden finger post signs on wooden posts declaring it to be the 'Wirral Circular Route'. Despite being close to main roads and large urban areas it's mainly just a few dog walkers who use these paths and houses are fenced off behind hedges which makes the route feel quite rural. All of the paths are elevated and will be free of muddy patches, so if you hate mud this will be a good walk for you. The river Birket looks more like an overgrown canal which doesn't help its popularity, (photo on the right at Reeves Road). It's a sign of a shortage of good features when the name of the walk includes a cake factory; however the smell as you pass is very pleasant. The final sections of the walk are along the promenade section of the North Wirral Coastal Park which is very popular with local people. It's even busy midweek in cool weather and is excellent for sturdy folk who like to enjoy a good fresh sea breeze but be warned that the prevailing winds blowing across it from the Irish Sea can make it feel very chilly indeed in cold weather.

This walk is suitable for older teenagers, senior citizens, and anyone in-between, and excellent for dogs. Although most of the paths are narrow there are no stiles so buggies could probably be used - but with a bit of a struggle due to all the grass. It would be a real challenge for wheelchairs, but not impossible. Suitable footwear - anything flat soled will be fine, and you would have no problems with wearing shorts. There are no refreshments or toilets but there are some vandal-proof seats along the River Birket in the form of a long concrete block and some large, scattered tree trunks.
