This is a marvellous little walk that starts from the main road running alongside the village of Lighthorne Heath, taking a bridleway along to the school. From here the route takes to wonderful open countryside to reach the very attractive village of Lighthorne. The houses are individual and the whole setting is most appealing, with several wells set into walls along the streets. Field-paths then lead up to a small pocket of woodland where there are good views and further on, the perimeter of Chesterton Wood.
The M40 makes a small intrusion to the peace and quietness, but is soon left behind as the route joins the Warwickshire Feldon Cycle Way. Chesterton Windmill comes into view on an uphill field climb and again later on from a different direction. The route links up to the motorway again for a short distance on the way back to Lighthorne Heath and amazingly, little muntjac are likely to be seen, unperturbed by the disturbance of the traffic.
The last part of the walk is on field edges, before joining the private narrow road that is also a bridleway leading to the road where the walk began.
