Llandrindod Wells - House Platform - Shaky Bridge - The Lake - llandrindod Wells

Radnorshire is a county of surprises. At first glance it appears to be mainly farming country, but get up into the hills (at over 1,000ft they are mountains) and the views are breathtaking. This walk climbs up from Llandrindod Wells with its shops and pubs to reach high ground. After visiting Shaky Bridge and the River Ithon we return to the high ground and views before returning to Llandrindod Wells and civilization.

I loved this walk. Its convenient, being circular, and 10-15 minutes from the town you’re up in the hills and woods. Nice varied landscape with some lovely views back down after climing up from Shaky Bridge. That was the bit where my wife was cursing me as it was a steepish climb up. Then nice views down over Llandrindod as you cone back towards the town. It was misty and damp when we did it but still lovely, and a decent workout.
