When the main summits of the Brecon Beacons are crowded, try this walk where you will meet no more than a handful of people. The views are magnificent and you may see buzzards soaring over the crags. The walk finishes with a pleasant stroll through woods and fields alongside a river.

Mostly it is easy walking with well-defined paths, but graded Hill Scramble because of the altitude.

Started this walk in bright sunshine but by the time we got halfway up, we were clouded in fog, luckily we had GPS so we were OK, but just shows how careful you have to be. Although we couldn't see 20 metres in front of us, it was an enjoyable walk and fairly easy route to follow. Will try it again later on in the year where hopefully we will see some of the views

Fabulous walk but you do need a clear day to fully appreciate it. A strenuous walk that starts with a steep climb but it is definitely worth the effort. We did get lost near the top of Fan y Big but that was our own fault ! Would definitely do it again. Thank you !

An absolutely fabulous walk, best done with fine weather. Some of the paths are quite close to perilous drops but don't let this put you off, the walk is well worth it. Couldn't pluck up the courage to stand on the overhanging ledge of fan-y-big. Excellent directions, outstanding views and just simply brilliant!. Do it!. 10/10.
