The start of the walk is quite strenuous, as all the climbing is done early in order to attain the ridge of Hatteral Hill. The views make it all worthwhile. Returning to the valley is also quite taxing, but the return route has its own attractions.

We did this walk in April 2011 in very good weather. Wonderful views so save it for a clear day. Great walk, directions were excellent, and signposts still good. Varied walking with the climb at the start, then relaxing walk along part of Offa's Dyke, down hill then with the last stretch through farming country, quiet lanes.

I did this walk on 25th July 2006. The directions were very clear. The paths on a very dry summer's day were clear and easy to follow, the signposts good. A wonderful walk with great views.
