Loch Whinyeon, Craigtype and Fell of Laghead from Knocktinkle.

Nestled amongst the hills north of Gatehouse of Fleet is the lovely Loch Whinyeon. This beautiful walk visits the loch and tackles the modest heights of Craigtype and Fell of Laghead before regaining the moorland road.

There are extensive views of the hills throughout the walk, which is graded 'moderate' because of its many undulations and a dry-stone dyke you must cross at one point. This is only a short walk, but there is a yet shorter alternative circuit of just 2.5 miles.
