Our walk starts on the outskirts of Lockton, but doesn't visit the village immediately. Instead, we drop to the delightful wooded valley of Levisham Beck. After briefly climbing out of and then dropping back into, the valley, we finally climb up onto Levisham Moor at Dundale Pond.

Our next stop-off is at the very pretty village of Levisham and potentially a break at the Horseshoe Inn, before heading over the wooded valley to our next village - Lockton.

Whilst there's no pub in Lockton, there is a very nice tea room (The Pantry at Waymark 15).

Dog-walkers please note the possible presence of livestock at the start of the walk. Please also control your dog on Levisham Moor to protect ground-nesting birds.

Completed this walk today, really enjoyable and some great views and a mixture of scenery. A few points - there are a few quite steep climbs on the walk, I would recommend doing the walk after a dry spell and a good picnic stop is at Dundale Grill, a nice little stream in a valley. Levisham is a very picturesque village and the pub there looked very tempting. I missed waymark 11 and ending up retracing the earlier waymarks on the walk to get back to the starting point which made for quite a steep climb so I would advise walkers to be more vigilant than me at waymark 11! Overall, enjoyable walk and hope to go back to the area soon, Thanks!

This walk is on very narrow paths in places with steep drops on one side of the path and I don't recommend after rain.

Lovely walk and we were blessed with a beautiful day and so could appreciate the views to the full. Thank you Sam. Sylvia and Tony Saunders
