The walk is based on the popular Loggerheads Country Park near Mold and goes south on new footpaths around Colomendy Outdoor Pursuits Centre and then through woodland to the little village of Maeshafn, where The Miners' Arms is to be found. A steady climb through a Local Nature Reserve brings you to the summit of Moel Findeg with good views of Moel Famau and the surrounding countryside. Good tracks and one steep descent lead to footpaths through pastures to another diversion around Colomendy and the route back.

A very enjoyable walk with excellent 360 degree views from the high point. Just after WM6 the Waymark Post gives an alternative route to Maeshafn that is at a higher level and gives good views of the valley. If you take this option you re-join the main route at WM9. The route between WM11 and WM12 now includes 2 new kissing gates, as well as the one that goes off to the right. The whole route is well marked. Another good one Jim.
